Unstoppable Domains, a digital identity platform, is expanding its offerings by adding support for Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain endings. This means that users will now be able to register .eth domains, allowing them to link their digital identities to the Ethereum blockchain.
It already offers domain endings such as .crypto, .nft, and .polygon. The company aims to make it easier for users to manage their Web3 domains by providing a single platform for registration and management. They are introducing features like auto-renewal for Ethereum-based domains and a vault to secure domain ownership.
To address the challenge of remembering on-chain Ethereum renewals and prevent accidental loss of .eth domains, it offers an optional auto-renewal feature specifically for .eth domains. Users can choose the duration of renewal, and each auto-renewal is priced at $4 per renewal period.
Additionally, Unstoppable Domains will support fiat payments, allowing customers to purchase domains using credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, as well as cryptocurrencies. By expanding its offerings, Unstoppable Domains hopes to attract new users who are not yet familiar with Web3 technologies. While users who purchase a .eth domain from Unstoppable Domains can access ENS integrations, they will not initially have access to Unstoppable integrations.
The company is actively involved in the Web3 Domain Alliance, working towards developing industry standards and shaping the future of digital identity in the crypto space. It has been actively partnering with various organizations and expanding its domain offerings, including collaborations with Opera for .crypto and .zil domain endings, as well as with Polygon for .polygon domain endings.
The aim is to make the web3 ecosystem user-friendly and accessible, simplifying the process for users to navigate web3 through decentralized domains and self-owned digital identities.
Recently on July 1, ENS implemented Layer 2 interoperability for seamless integration with solutions like Arbitrum and Optimism. This upgrade improves scalability and reduces costs. Service providers like cb. id, Lens protocol, and OptiNames are involved. ENS has over 2.2 million domains across 700,000 addresses.
