Mary Catherine Lader, the President and Chief Operating Officer of UniSwap Labs, said in her most recent LinkedIn post that, “ After four incredible years as President & COO of Uniswap Labs, I’ve decided to start something new. I’m proud of the passionate team that Hayden Adams and I built and the many products we shipped to millions of users. Uniswap Labs is perfectly positioned to meet this landmark moment for crypto.”
She added in the same post, “ As the world gets ready for DeFi to scale further, I’m excited to keep building on what we’ve started. More to come soon :).”
A report by Bloomberg on July 15, 2025, states that Mary will remain in an advisory role before transitioning to her next venture. However, an official at Uniswap said, “We will continue to build on her contributions.”
According to her LinkedIn profile, before joining Uniswap Labs, Mary worked as Chief of Staff to the Global COO at BlackRock from October 2015 to October 2017. She was later promoted to the position of Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer with BlackRock Digital Wealth and subsequently served as Managing Director & Global Head of Aladdin Sustainability.
Before joining BlackRock and Uniswap, Mary was co-founder of hiWatson, and before that, she worked with Goldman Sachs as an Investment Analyst, Special Situation Group.
A quick brief about Uniswap Labs
Uniswap Labs, the largest decentralized trading platform on Ethereum, was founded in 2018 by Hayden Adams, and Uniswap now holds a significant position in the decentralized cryptocurrency market.
According to data from Defillama, Uniswap’s volume in the past 24 hours is $3.645 billion, with an all-time volume of $2.944 trillion.
Uniswap (UNI) governance token is trading at $9.22 with an intraday surge of 2.56% and has added roughly 20% in the past seven days. UNI’s market is $5.79 billion, which is up by 2.89% intraday, and trading volume has reached $666.21 million with a loss of nearly 24.05%.
It is worth noting that in May this year, Uniswap protocol crossed $3 trillion in all-time swap volume, with Layer-2 solutions contributing heavily, $383.01 billion in 2024 alone.
Also, the launch of Uniswap V4 introduced “hooks” for customisable liquidity pools and a “singleton” design to lower gas cost. In February 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission dropped its lawsuit against Uniswap Labs without action.
Yet there are claims that the dismissal of the case was partially politically influenced, and came after it was clear that Donald Trump was leading the charge in the presidential elections held last year in the United States.
