Anchorage Digital, the first federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, has announced support for the TRON blockchain, marking a significant step toward expanding institutional access to one of the most widely used crypto ecosystems.
With this integration, institutional clients will be able to securely custody TRX, the native token of the TRON network, through Anchorage Digital’s regulated platform.
The firm also confirmed that TRX will be supported on Porto, its self-custody wallet designed for institutions seeking direct control over their digital assets.
The move is part of a broader effort to bridge the gap between traditional finance and blockchain ecosystems by offering compliant, institutional-grade infrastructure.
Anchorage Digital stated that additional features, including support for TRC-20 tokens and native TRX staking, will be rolled out in future phases, allowing institutions to engage more deeply with the TRON ecosystem.
TRON has emerged as one of the largest blockchain networks globally, with a significant user base and high on-chain activity, particularly in stablecoin transactions.
As institutional interest in digital assets continues to grow, access to secure and regulated custody solutions has become a key requirement for participation in major blockchain networks.
Nathan McCauley, co-founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital, emphasized the importance of the integration, noting that TRON plays a critical role in the broader crypto and stablecoin landscape.
He added that providing regulated infrastructure for TRON enables institutions to safely access and interact with its ecosystem, particularly as the network expands its footprint in the United States.
The integration also reflects TRON’s increasing focus on institutional adoption in the U.S. market. By partnering with a regulated entity like Anchorage Digital, the network aims to provide greater trust and compliance for institutional participants.
This development comes at a time when regulatory clarity and secure custody solutions are becoming central to the next phase of crypto adoption.
By supporting TRON, Anchorage Digital is positioning itself as a key infrastructure provider for institutions looking to explore and invest in leading blockchain ecosystems within a compliant framework.
