MicroStrategy (now Strategy) has noted in its Form 8-K filing with the SEC that it now holds 639,000 Bitcoin after its recent purchase of 525 BTC.
The report dated September 15, 2025, by Strategy underlines that operational earnings do not fund the recent purchase of $60.2 million worth of Bitcoin, but rather through its capital markets strategy.
It is worth noting that the recent purchase of 525 BTC was made through the sale of three classes of shares, including Series A Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock, Series A Perpetual Strike Preferred Stock, and Series A Perpetual Stride Preferred Stock.
As per BitcoinTreasury(dot)Net, Strategy owns 3.043% of total BTC, followed by Mara Holdings Inc owning $6,049 million worth of Bitcoin, XXI had 43,514 BTC, and Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company had 0.143% of total Bitcoin.
Public listed companies collectively hold 1,011,352 BTC, yet private companies hold only 299,207 BTC, government entities have 526,394 BTC, and ETFs & Exchanges dominate with a total 1,629,358 BTC.
