Currently, the overall cryptocurrency market is struggling to gain momentum. During this period, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, is taking measures to safeguard its investors by delisting several tokens from the exchange. According to a recent post by Binance on X (previously Twitter) on February 6, 2024, it will delist ANT, MULTI, VAI, and XMR tokens on February 20, 2024.
Why Binance delist these tokens?
In this rapidly evolving cryptocurrency landscape, user safety is a top priority for any crypto firm. By thoroughly assessing all safety parameters and implementing measures to safeguard users, Binance is taking this significant step. However, a Binance customer support representative replied to one of the user’s comments, emphasizing the reasons why Binance delists certain cryptocurrencies from the exchange.
Binance, in its response, mentioned that it periodically reviews each and every digital asset listed on the exchange. The platform ensures that all these assets consistently meet a high level of standards. Whenever any of these digital assets fail to maintain their standards, either according to Binance’s criteria or industry norms, thorough research is conducted, and those tokens may be potentially delisted. In this last Binance said, that we believe user protection is our first task.

Additionally, the delisting is scheduled to take place on February 20, 2024, at 11:00. The trading pairs that will be removed include ANT/BTC, ANT/USDT, MULTI/USDT, USDT/VAI, and XMR/BNB, XMR/BTC, XMR/ETH, XMR/USDT. However, ANT and VAI are two out of these four tokens that are going to be delisted from Binance.
On January 4, 2024, ANT and VAI tokens were added to the Monitoring Tag list. This tag list highlights that these tokens are very volatile and risky compared to other listed cryptocurrencies. During that period, Binance stated that if they no longer meet listing criteria, they could be delisted from the platform. Now, on February 6, 2024, these tokens are set to be delisted.
In January 2024, several cryptocurrencies declined by 99%, experiencing rug pulls. However, they are not listed on Binance. To avoid such incidents, Binance has taken this proactive action. As of now, major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Binance, and others are continuously struggling to gain momentum, and the overall cryptocurrency market is down by 0.2%.
