The Latin American division of South Korean electronics giant Samsung has opened an outlet in Decentraland. Decentraland is an Ethereum-based Metaverse platform where companies like Atari, Adidas, and Louis Vuitton have bought their piece of digital land to increase their visibility in the new digital frenzy.
The “House of Sam” by Samsung will use the metaverse as a vehicle to introduce the company to a new generation of consumers. Samsung announced the launch of the House of Sam in a video conference with the Brazilian singing group Melim on September 1.
It will also run a number of brand-related mini-games that award users with prizes in the form of unique wearables for its avatars in Decentraland. The Freestyle portable projector is among the Samsung brand’s most recognisable goods that can be found in the virtual environment.
The marketing director for Samsung’s Latin American operations, Arthur Wong, explained that in Decentraland customers will be able to interact with one another and take part in exclusive shows, courses, and events that they will offer for free. Their viewpoint aims to be even more in line with that of Gen Z– he claims that their younger consumers no longer distinguish between the real world and the virtual world. He also praised Decentraland for being one of the most democratic and open places in the metaverse.
Samsung was already present in the metaverse in a number of ways. The company released Space Tycoon, a metaverse experience As part of the Roblox platform. In January, the business inaugurated its very own store in Decentraland. The company is also active in the NFT (non-fungible token) market and the bitcoin mining chip industry.
