Over $2.24 billion got liquidated from the crypto markets in the last 24 hours in the middle of growing geopolitical unpredictabilities spurred by the global tariff war. Ether was in the leading position with merged long and short liquidations worth more than $609.9 million.
Overall daily crypto liquidations on January 3 of more than $2.24 billion were shared by over 730,000 traders. The largest single liquidation order was listed on the crypto exchange Binance for an ETH/BTC trading pair estimated at about $25.6 million, as per CoinGlass data.
At that time, 36.8% of all liquidations occurred on Binance, as a result of its massive userbase. Long traders lost around $1.88 billion, or 84% of the total liquidations, mentioning complete speculation of another bull run.
