United kingdom based Hedge fund jumps into Crypto

UK based Hedge fund company Brevan Howard is reportedly looking forward to expanding its cryptocurrency operations. The company is launching its new asset division, BH Digital in the crypto industry.

According to a report by Reuters, the company has appointed an executive to manage and oversee the digital asset investments, Colleen Sullivan.

Under her leadership as an executive managing its cryptocurrency investments, the company has doubled down on its digital asset efforts. 

Colleen Sullivan was the CEO and co-founder of CMT Digital and shared a new strategy focused on cryptocurrency technology with the investment committee.

Brevan Howard’s CEO, Aron Landy, heaped praise and said,

Colleen’s exceptional track record in making highly successful crypto venture investments will be of tremendous benefit to Brevan Howard clients and underscores the firm’s commitment to rapidly expanding its platform and offerings in cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

The company believes in the huge diversity of opportunities, which is one of the main reasons they turned their sight towards the cryptocurrency industry. He opined that the asset class would play a significant role in the long-term future.

The company also invested $84 million in Bitcoin and other digital currencies in April this year. The investment was almost 1.5% of the total company’s capital.

In a recent revelation, Cody Harris, a Texas House of Representatives member, proposed a Bitcoin mining bill. The proposed bill recognizes the right to mine Bitcoin in the state, however, it has also added fuel to the inherently controversial topic of cryptocurrency mining in Texas.
Hackers stole almost $195 million in a flash loan assault from the decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Euler Finance, making it the biggest attack of 2023 thus far. The thieves moved the stolen money to two new wallets, one of which contained DAI tokens and Ethereum (ETH) stablecoins.
While the global regulatory approach to crypto seems to be blurred, a recent study highlights that the interest of the masses in crypto in particular regions hasn’t slowed at all. The study took into consideration crypto-related internet searches to produce results.
Crypto automated teller machines (ATMs) are considered to be one of the key infrastructure pillars to assess the rate of mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. Reportedly, the number of crypto ATMs around the globe has seen a significant reduction this year.
