1) Huobi Global announced a Polkadot Sponsorship program.

Huobi Global, the cryptocurrency exchange on 4 December 2020 announced the Polkadot Sponsorship program and $5 million Tether funds to help developers, event organizers, content creators, and ambassadors in the Polkadot ecosystem. This program allows people to recommend Polkadot projects for listing purposes in the Polkadot ecological zone. Sponsors will also get invited to Huobi’s annual conference and to offline events.

2) Solana, a layer-one blockchain gets both jeers and support.

Solana, a layer-one blockchain gave a live update on their blog post mentioned:

At approximately 1:46 pm UTC on December 4th, 2020, the Solana Mainnet Beta cluster stopped producing blocks at slot 53,180,900, which prevented any new transactions from being confirmed. This outage mentioned above lasted roughly for 5 and a half hours, then over 80% of the stake weight of the network, successfully initiated network restart instructions, and started producing blocks again.

As compared to 2019 in 2020 Darknet market venues and the number of cryptocurrency transfers has decreased as per the blockchain forensics company Chainalysis the reason behind this is the COVID-19 pandemic.

5) Coinbase distributes Spark tokens to XRP holders.

Coinbase, the San Francisco-based exchange announced in their blog that Coinbase users with XRP in their account by midnight UTC on December 12, 2020, will receive Spark tokens from Coinbase.

The amount of Spark you’ll receive depends on how much XRP you had in your account at the snapshot time, Flare’s token, Spark is created through what may be the first ever utility fork whereby the origin network, in this case the XRP Ledger, benefits through increased utility.
