Hong Kong-based digital asset company HashKey Group has announced the consolidation of its cryptocurrency trading platforms into a single unified exchange, marking another step in the firm’s global expansion strategy.
The move brings HashKey Exchange, HashKey Global and several regional platforms together under one ecosystem, allowing users to access multiple regulated markets through a single application and account experience. The company said the integration is designed to simplify its product offering while strengthening operational efficiency across different jurisdictions.
According to HashKey, the upgraded platform will serve users across Hong Kong, Singapore, the Middle East and other supported international markets through one integrated application. Rather than maintaining separate exchange products for different regions, eligible users will be able to access services available in their jurisdiction from a unified interface, while remaining subject to local regulatory requirements.
The company noted that existing customer accounts, identity verification records, trading history, assets and transaction data will remain intact throughout the migration process. Users will not be required to create new accounts, helping minimise disruption as the exchanges are merged into a single platform.
HashKey said the consolidation also introduces a new Web3 Wallet entry point alongside its centralised exchange services. The wallet service will operate independently from the exchange business, giving users access to decentralised applications and self-custody features while maintaining separation from regulated trading operations.
The unified exchange forms part of HashKey Group’s broader strategy to build a globally connected digital asset ecosystem. Since its launch in 2018, the company has expanded beyond Hong Kong by securing regulatory approvals in multiple jurisdictions, including Bermuda, Dubai and other international markets. Today, the group operates businesses spanning exchange services, institutional trading, asset management, tokenisation, custody and blockchain infrastructure.
HashKey has positioned regulatory compliance as a core element of its international expansion. In Hong Kong, HashKey Exchange is among the first licensed virtual asset trading platforms authorised by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) to provide services to retail investors. The company has also obtained a Class F Digital Asset Business licence from the Bermuda Monetary Authority for its global exchange operations.
The decision to merge its exchanges comes as competition among regulated cryptocurrency platforms continues to intensify. Rather than operating several independent trading venues with separate infrastructure, many exchanges are seeking to consolidate technology, improve liquidity and deliver a more consistent user experience across multiple jurisdictions.
Industry participants have increasingly focused on building globally connected platforms while maintaining compliance with local regulations. This approach enables exchanges to scale internationally without requiring customers to navigate multiple applications or duplicate account verification processes.
For HashKey, the consolidation could also improve operational efficiency by centralising product development and platform maintenance. A single exchange infrastructure allows the company to roll out new features across supported markets more efficiently while adapting individual services to meet regional regulatory standards.
Hong Kong continues to position itself as one of Asia’s leading regulated digital asset hubs. Authorities have introduced a licensing regime for virtual asset trading platforms while encouraging responsible innovation in blockchain and digital finance. HashKey has been one of the early participants in the city’s regulated crypto ecosystem, alongside a limited number of licensed exchanges.
The latest integration reflects the growing maturity of the digital asset industry, where exchanges are increasingly prioritising regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and cross-border accessibility. As more jurisdictions establish dedicated crypto licensing frameworks, unified platforms may become an important strategy for companies seeking to expand internationally while maintaining compliance with local rules.
HashKey did not indicate any immediate changes to users’ trading services beyond the platform integration, stating that supported products and market availability will continue to depend on regional regulatory requirements and customer eligibility.
