Bo Shen, co-founder of Fenbushi Capital, has announced a public bounty to recover approximately $42 million in digital assets stolen from his personal wallet during a 2022 hack.
In a statement shared this week, Shen revealed that the investigation into the breach has continued over the past three years, with his team steadily gathering evidence and tracing the movement of stolen funds.
He noted that advancements in blockchain analytics and artificial intelligence have significantly improved the ability to track illicit transactions, making recovery efforts more viable today than at the time of the attack.
To accelerate the process, Shen is offering a reward of 10% to 20% of the recovered assets to any individual or organization that contributes meaningfully to the recovery effort.
The open bounty is available regardless of the contributor’s background, reflecting a broader push to involve the global crypto community in solving the case.
Shen emphasized that the initiative is not only about reclaiming lost funds but also about testing the capabilities of modern investigative tools.
He highlighted how AI-powered data analysis, on-chain forensics, and cross-platform collaboration have evolved, enabling new approaches to tackling complex crypto crimes.
Prominent blockchain investigators, including ZachXBT and Taylor Monahan, have already assisted in the case, helping freeze approximately $1.2 million in related assets. Shen confirmed that rewards will be distributed once recovery efforts are successfully completed.
The case underscores the persistent challenges of securing digital assets, even for experienced industry participants.
At the same time, it highlights the growing role of community-driven investigations and technological innovation in addressing crypto-related crimes.
As the crypto ecosystem matures, initiatives like Shen’s bounty program may become increasingly common, leveraging collective expertise to recover stolen assets and deter future attacks.
