European crypto platform Bitpanda has unveiled Vision Chain, a new blockchain infrastructure aimed at accelerating the adoption of tokenized assets across Europe’s financial sector.
The network is being developed in partnership with the Vision Web3 Foundation and is built on the technology stack of Optimism. Vision Chain is designed to provide regulated financial institutions with a standardized blockchain environment for issuing, managing, and settling tokenized assets.
According to Bitpanda, the new infrastructure is intended to address long-standing challenges in European finance, where many institutions have relied on closed or proprietary blockchain networks that often lack liquidity, interoperability, and scalability.
Vision Chain will operate within Europe’s regulatory framework, aligning with key legislation including Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II, and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). By integrating these compliance standards, Bitpanda aims to create an infrastructure that bridges traditional finance with the emerging on-chain economy.
A key component of the network is its use of MiCA-compliant euro-denominated stablecoins to handle network and transaction fees. This approach is designed to reduce volatility risks commonly associated with paying blockchain fees using cryptocurrencies, making the system more predictable for institutional participants.
The ecosystem will also introduce the Vision Token (VSN), issued by the Vision Web3 Foundation, which will serve as the network’s commercial engine. A portion of revenue generated by network activity will be used to buy back and remove tokens from circulation, creating a model that ties network growth to ecosystem value.
Bitpanda CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad said the initiative aims to provide the infrastructure needed to support the next stage of digital finance in Europe. He noted that tokenization has the potential to transform capital markets by allowing traditional assets to move onto blockchain networks.
By enabling regulated institutions to deploy tokenized assets on a shared blockchain environment, Vision Chain seeks to move digital asset initiatives beyond limited pilot programs and into large-scale production use across Europe’s financial system.
