Binance has announced the introduction of a new trading safeguard called the Spot Price Range Execution Rule (PRER), aimed at preventing abnormal trade executions during periods of extreme market volatility.
According to the announcement, the feature will be rolled out gradually starting April 14, 2026.
The mechanism is designed to ensure that user orders are executed only within a predefined dynamic price range, helping maintain fair and orderly market conditions.
The move comes as exchanges continue to strengthen protections against erratic price swings and unexpected liquidity gaps.
Under the PRER system, any order that attempts to execute outside the allowed price range will automatically expire. This applies to all taker orders, effectively preventing trades from being filled at prices that significantly deviate from prevailing market levels.
Binance stated that the rule is intended to mitigate risks associated with abnormal market activity, including sudden spikes or crashes that may occur due to low liquidity or large, rapid trades.
By restricting executions to a controlled range, the exchange aims to protect users from unintended losses caused by extreme price dislocations.
Importantly, the company emphasized that the feature is unlikely to impact normal trading activity. During stable market conditions, orders are expected to fall within the acceptable price range, allowing transactions to proceed as usual without disruption.
The introduction of PRER follows past instances of unusual price movements in crypto markets, which have raised concerns about execution fairness and user protection.
By implementing this safeguard, Binance seeks to enhance market integrity and reduce the likelihood of similar incidents in the future.
The exchange also noted that the rollout will be gradual to ensure a smooth transition for users. As with many of its product updates, availability may vary by region, depending on local regulations and service access.
Overall, the new rule represents Binance’s latest effort to improve trading safeguards and reinforce confidence in its platform during periods of heightened volatility.
