The Ethereum Foundation has executed its largest-ever single-day staking move, depositing 22,517 Ether (ETH) worth approximately $46.2 million into the Ethereum Beacon Chain, according to on-chain data from Arkham Intelligence.
The transactions, carried out via the foundation’s treasury multisignature wallet, consisted of 11 separate deposits, each totaling around 2,047 ETH.
This marks a significant escalation in the foundation’s staking strategy as it seeks to generate yield from its holdings while supporting network security.
The latest move aligns with the foundation’s 2025 treasury strategy, which focuses on deploying idle ETH reserves into staking mechanisms rather than holding them passively.
The decision follows increased institutional adoption of staking as a yield-generating tool and comes shortly after a recent treasury adjustment tied to the BitMine sale.
The Ethereum Foundation initially began staking ETH in February, when it deposited 2,016 ETH and revealed plans to stake up to 70,000 ETH over time.
The rewards generated from staking are expected to be reinvested into core ecosystem initiatives, including protocol research, developer grants, and infrastructure development.
Staking plays a crucial role in the Ethereum network’s proof-of-stake consensus model, where validators secure the network and earn rewards in return.
