
A 34 years old Russian man of Yaroslavl who was found guilty of stealing cryptocurrency mining equipment from his friend’s garage back in February 2021 has been sentenced to three years of imprisonment.
- According to a prosecutor’s office report of the Zavolzhsky District of Yaroslavl, the stolen equipment was worth more than 1.6 million rubles (almost $22,000).
- At the hearing, the convict admitted his guilt and voluntarily returned the stolen property to the victim as he could not operate it due to a “lack of relevant knowledge.”
- As he repented his guilt, the court sentenced him to 3 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years.
